Jiffy Growblock’s are compacted 100mm square coco fibre blocks that expand when hydrated to provide optimum growing conditions. Jiffy Growblock 100mm are perfect as a second stage substrate with Jiffy expanding coco coir plugs or root riot propagation plugs. Establishing healthy, vigorous plants at the crucial first stage of growth that can then be transplanted to coco slabs or larger pots or containers.

Containing 100% RHP Certified coco substrate, delivered dry they are highly efficient for both transportation and storage. When water is added, the block swells becoming  ready to propagate or cultivate your plants. Growblocks can be ordered in a wide range of sizes, with or without seedling holes depending on your specific needs.

The purified and stabilised coco substrate is carefully selected at Jiffy’s production site to give a maximum water holding capacity of 60-75%. With an Air-filled porosity of 20-35% to ensure optimum oxygen diffusion rates at the root zone. The production process of the Jiffy Growblock allows growers to adapt any fertilizer application with a range of EC and pH levels. Coco substrate is a renewable, environmentally-friendly substrate with zero disposal issues and the netting is made of PLA.

Environmental impact 

Jiffy have shown clear commitment to their ‘green credentials’ and environmental impact. Reducing the use of plastic in packaging and production is a global issue, and at Jiffy the aim is to lower the use of plastics for their growing media. From 2019 Jiffy switched from PE and PP plastics to PLA netting for the manufacturing of all Jiffy Growblocks. All Jiffy Growblocks now use PLA netting as standard. Made from polylactic acid derived from corn starch (PLA) is an alternative to plastic. PLA netting is a lightweight, fine-fibre web which is biodegradable and compostable under controlled industrial conditions. It is certified under EU norm EN13432.  Jiffy cares for the environment and are striving to help their customers grow their products in a sustainable or renewable way.
