They provide an inexpensive method of creating a home-made aeroponic cloner or growing system.
When submerged in water, the air pressure pulls water from the reservoir and builds up pressure within the stem. When excess pressure is achieved, the water mixes with the air pressure (supplied via an air pump) then explodes out of the top of the mixer, creating an irrigation mist for your plants.
