Directions for use.

How to, Sowing in Canna Terra Seed Mix

Sow the seeds 2-3 mm deep (max. 5 mm) in the CANNA Terra Seed Mix in a container that has a maximum diameter of 5 cm. Spray the growing medium regularly. Seedlings will use the energy reserves that are available in the seed foremost.

Keep the seeds consistently warm (20-25°C) and moist using a heated propagator for example. Remove the propagator’s lid as soon as the seedlings emerge from the seed mix..

Young seedlings

Young seedlings are very delicate so do not place them in direct sunlight or close to a powerful grow light. Give the young plants a feeding solution that has a low EC (1.2) and add Canna Rhizotonic to strengthen the roots. Seedlings are ready to be potted out when they have developed two or three leaves and the roots fill the medium.

Growing outdoors with Seed Mix

It is possible to sow seeds directly in the ground although germination rates are appreciably lower. Ground temperatures outside do not provide ideal circumstances for germinating seeds. Place the seedlings that have emerged on a spot where they can acclimatise to the conditions outside, on the balcony, for example.

Cuttings and further

Once the plants have developed a good root system in the CANNA Terra Seed Mix they can be transferred to a growing medium such as CANNA Terra Professional, CANNA Terra Professional + , CANNA Coco substrates, clay pebbles or rock wool so they can be cultivated to maturity.
