Scoring - Cuttings - Paul Fowler
SECTION 2 - CUTTINGS
SCORING

Some gardeners use a technique called ‘scoring’ to encourage the process of root development. The cutting is submerged in lukewarm water and a small section is removed from the outside. This exposes the cambium layer so that the cells on the surface will change into rooting cells quicker. Be careful not remove too much, just the outer layer.
