Conductivity levels in soft water areas - An Advanced Nutrient Solution - Paul Fowler
SECTION 2 - AN ADVANCED NUTRIENT SOLUTION
CONDUCTIVITY LEVELS IN SOFT WATER AREAS

All of the figures given in this guide and those referred to generally, are for standard hard water as this applies to most of the UK. If you are in a soft water area then the range of conductivity levels should be run up to four points lower. The example given above of a plant with a range of CF 16 — 24, grown in a soft water area, will be amended as follows:

TYPE OF SYSTEMCONDUCTIVITY RANGEMAXIMUM CONDUCTIVITY
Ebb and flood12 — 20 20
Nutrient film technique (NFT)12 — 2222
Hydro-pots etc 12 — 1818
